EXPLORING THE BENEFITS OF SPRAY FOAM CATHEDRAL ATTICS

In cathedralized attic spaces, spray foam insulation is applied to the underside of the roof deck, while the ceiling remains flat. This method is standard for all spray foam applications in residential construction, regardless of whether the ceiling is flat or sloped.
By keeping the spray foam against the roof deck, the airspace within remains warm and conditioned. This design allows the flat ceiling to function similarly to a suspended ceiling in a basement—primarily serving as a finish for the interior and accommodating lighting, speakers, TVs, or bulkheads without compromising the seal and insulation stability of the building envelope.
This approach not only offers architectural flexibility for intricate designs but also ensures superior insulation stability and energy efficiency, providing long-term comfort and cost savings for homeowners.
